Heck Cattle is obtained by artificial selection with the aim of recreating extinct european Auroch. From 1920, under the hypothesis that the genes of the auroch were kept hidden in the genetic material of the cattle breeds, the crosses of specimens began to obtain a breed with morphological similarities and with adaptation to the wild life. The result was a large, robust species with long horns and black or brown hair.
